    Hi all,

Anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on one from? Tried most of
the wreckers and handcraft fibreglass with no luck...

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jason

Most bike parking areas seem to have one or two...

Well, maybe an X-Raptor has better forks and brakes into the bargain!

Not sure if you tried these guys already, but theres a place in
adeliade called replico that makes just about everthing fairing related

Well it certainly does, but he'd then have to take the whole front end
seeing it has fully adjustable upside downies (not sure which brand),
and 4pot brembos rather than the ZZR's std non adjustable forks and 2
pots (?? not sure what brakes it had)
Hey !! I bought a Cagiva and a Gilera! Any more outside the square and
I'll be on the ragged fringe and be forced to buy a Guzzi*

    JL
*Which I'll admit I quite like the look of...

Thought the brakes on a zzr 600 were this "Opposed four-piston calipers "
and the forks "Adjustable preload and four-way rebound damping adjustments".
    Well according to this site
    http://www.onyerbike.net/2004/kawasaki/zzr600.htm but older ones are
    probably different.

    Hi Dave,

Hadn't heard of them... had spoken to handcraft fibreglass up in sydney but
no luck here... they only make upper and lower fairings for them :(

    Cheers,

Yep - 4 Opposed 4 pot - even the earlier forks have some adjustment....

Replico might not be much help either, from the looks of this:

    bugger...

theres a company in america called Airtech (I think) or something very
similar that do heaps of fiberglass fairings moulding, not sure how
expensive they are though... try the web for a name like airtech +
fairing. Remember that the ZZR600 fairing has heaps of foam stuck to
    its inside.

the zzr600 fairing has 3 parts
1- the bit tha covers the exhaust pipes
2- the bit that has the blinkers
3 - the bit in the middle
bits 2 and 3 are connected together by exposed screws.

    OR

get the replico "paris" fairing instead for that authentic "Goose
motorcycle" from Mad Max look. Then you just need the Don Vesco Big
Butt seat and your ZZR is suddenly a member of the main force patrol!

    FFS!!!!

You would not think the guard was so hard to get!

Found one in Melbourne (thanks Johnnie5) for $120..... just need pay day to
arrive so I can get it sent up. Moral for the future - don't break it!

    :)

    it!

Alternative moral for the future: take your new one to a fibreglass
shop and get a mould (mold?) made from it. I sometimes wish I'd done
that with a GPX250 guard, since they tend to crack straight across
between the forks if you do a bit of riding on rough roads.

What, and now you're completely out of GPX250s to base it on?

Prob not much help for now, but a 03 ZZR600 was up for auction at
fowles on Wednesday. Went for $1400, did have pretty bad damage. I
can't remember exactly which bits though.

    It's a shameful state of affairs! ;-)

Actually the mudguards on both of the GPX250s I've got (and Minx's
bike) have all been so thoroughly patched that they're mostly
    fibreglass anyway...
