I've just spent the evening in the garage fettling the ZXR. Sorting out fitting the original pillion seat so I can carry luggage Le-Mans. But no spent all evening re-routing the wiring harness [1]. At least I have a genuine Kwak manual that shows the proper route. I've used about 30 cable ties and re-done some self bonding tape work. No more wires free to rub on metal. Oh yes indeed. I take it you didn't have the luxury of the ZXR750L supplement. It shows in great detail all the pipe and wiring loom paths round the frame. Including all the cable tie positions. I've removed the blue transfer from the original tail side panels. I'm awaiting someone to spray the white bits white again. You did say you had a lot of bother with the wiring loom though. It certainly fits like a glove now I've re-routed it. Roll on Le-mans... -- SimonB - South Wales. BOF#32 email simonb@zapikdotcodotuk Triumph Sprint ST, ZXR750L2 Wazimbaki. Kawasaki Z1R For Sale
I never bothered with such wussy things ;-) Yes I had a few problems with the loom. Water had got into it somehow so the connectors were soaking in a bath of water. This caused loads of intermittent faults until I stripped it, replaced a few wires and new connectors. From that day on I had no problems. How is it running now?
