Here's an example of the kind of weird shit that some people collect:

So in short, yes, it is collectable. You just need to find the right
    collector. :)
Nope. They look all right though.

Had a couple of mates with them back in the 90's so punted a few of them.
Had a better mid range than the GSXR750's of the time and were very sweet
steering bikes and had really solid front end feel. Early models had rear
shocks that were hard as - terrible things. Anything the age your looking at
has probably either had the shock freshened up or is completely shagged!

Engines seemed pretty strong, but after this many years guess it will depend
    on how it's been maintained.

From memory standard brakes were a bit wooden.

In their day if you wanted a race-rep it was either a ZXR or GSXR (I owned a
couple of the latter), and the ZXR's were good things. As to collectability,
I doubt it (unless like a mate at the time you have the ZXR750RR model).
Have no idea what they sell for.

  7. I'm sure they will become sort after / collectable, especially the 89 models
with the "ram air hoses" through the tank.
They're attractive, were popular at the time and go, stop and handle
acceptably with a little upgrading. Three things that bode well for future
    collectability status.
Good and common along with Rare and exotic seem to become collectiable

  8. It must be an 89 model then because it has the ram air hoses.
IMHO any Jap bike if in original condition and not thrashed to
    death will eventually be collectible.

    And the motorcycling?

    Classic collectable motorcycle!"
