Anyone have a copy to hand? Mine appears to have at least part of one line
    missing!

In Chapter 26 when he's talking about gumption, just after the missing
con-rod bearing liner, the final paragraph of a page ends: "I've edited
manuals written to train specialists for IBM, and what they know when
    they're done isn't that great".

But it doesn't end with a full stop and the next page starts: "You're at a
disadvantage the first time around and it may cost you a little more because
    of parts you accidentally damage...".

Is there much missing? Or just the full stop? Anyone care to fill in the
    gap(s)?

Many thanks in anticipation of spiritual enlightenment!

That has a full stop (on the same page). Buy a less pikey copy.

Thanks, it made all the difference - knowing, I mean, rather than the
additional enlightenment of the full stop itself.

I just checked my Corgi paperback (the flowering spanner on the cover)
1974 edition. I'd never noticed that error. My Corgi copy is held
together by yellowing sellotape generally, with a lot in that section.
Appropriate somehow, a bit like the patched up riding gloves reference
    early in the book.

It seems no-one noticed for at least six years then, because mine's dated
    1980.

Is the full stop there when the book is closed?
