After shelling out vast quantities of plastic money for a replacement
ignition system courtesy of the fine folk at Boyer Bransden, the Z finally
barked into life this afternoon! Got some fettling to do yet, zorst is
blowing at the head, getting a couple of brackets made to mount the BB
supplied coils, footpegs and foot levers to go back on then it'll be test
ride time, can't wait! Will prob have to get the carbs balanced but at last
the light at the end of the tunnel doesn't look like a train coming!!

Well done you. It's good to hear the old girl has been resurrected, I
    *like* Z650s.

  3. Me too. The original B1, in red or green, with the desirable double-disc
option, is one of my dream bikes. As perfectly proportioned as the 400
    Four, IMHO.

Well done you. It's good to hear the old girl has been resurrected, I
I got a kinda love-hate relationship with my C3. Love it when the beast is
in top fettle with balls-out performance (for its age) and surprisingly good
handling (the Metzelers I fitted made a BIG difference) then I'm just in
love, Best fun with clothes on. But when I get problems I just hate the sob.
Still trying to work out how to fit a 4 into 1 zorst on your tod, my left
leg is aching like buggery after trying to lift the arse end of it up!
Another moan, Boyer Bransden have a, no doubt, well earned reputation as a
designer/manufacturer of motorcycle electronic ignition systemes.
However, they supply their electronic 'boxes' without any means to mount them
to the bike, no lugs with holes, nothing. Why the **** not?

Got the timing sorted today and took it out for a spin. Was just gonna do
around 5 miles but ended up doing about 30. Sounds pretty sweet, no oil
leaks yet! Gotta torque the head down again now and that's about it!
    At last!
