One small step away from the sardonic elegance of Peter Stringfellow.
    It's taken a while, but it's a start.

Personally, for my money, "a little different" is reserved for people
that don't actually subscribe to any group at all. Who actively avoid
becoming subsumed into a collective that can be categorized in terms of
    philosophy or ostensible style.

Still, now I'm mildly interested. How do you display your "gothicity"
    without the basic markings?

Surely one of the fringe benefits of gay man sex is that they don't
    actually have to turn around.

See, now that is an interesting look. Put her in a room with a bunch of
other people who look similar and suddenly it's cirque de fucking
    soleil.

I had one of my Swedish nephews staying here in the summer and every time I
saw him I had to tell him to pull his fucking trousers up. He didn't, until
I walked past him without saying a thing, then grabbed them and dropped 'em
to his ankles. Complete with the undeercrackers.

Apparently, they don't do that sort of thing in "Bert". Now, he walks around
holding onto his pants whenever he sees me, which thankfully, isn't often.

What? Wearing pink jeans, a Yak skin jacket, trilby hat and odd shoes was
    done before the 60's?

See, you straight blokes, sex on the brain all the time. Where did Paul or
    I mention shagging?

You're still blokes though. Why else are you staring at their arses?

(Don't know where my first reply went, it might turn up later as a
    double post)

Butbutbut [1]...you're still blokes aren't you? What else are you
checking guys' arses out for? The quality of stitching in the seams?

  16. Precisely. The tube at 07.20 in the morning is not really the place for
it. Being touched up at 08.30 in a crowded carriage is perhaps a little
    more tolerable.

  19. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who didn't subscribe to any group at all.

It makes literal sense but I don't see a point to what you're saying if
you really don't know whether you have or haven't.

Of course you can always categorise someone and attach a label but for
the purposes of my point it's the difference between those that embrace
a restricted fellowship (goths, arsenal supporters, "bikers", etc) and
those that dissassociate themselves from anything that appears to be a
group or looks like becoming one.
