£25.00 for a test ride at Onyerbike - I don't think so. Duly took my
business down to LC in Watford who were more than accommodating.

  2. *what*?

I was thinking about heading over there on Saturday - perhaps I won't
now. Did that apply to new bikes? or used? or both? or was it just an
    insurance fee?

    boggling though.

My local dealership doesn't allow bikes out for test rides if it's raining
    or wet.

They aren't charging for them yet mind you.

Kawasaki Newcastle only allow test rides if you follow one of their staff on
a route of their choosing and, obviously, staying at the speed the person in
    front dictates.

They've never mentioned charging for them though.

What happens if you can't keep up/ overtake them in a reckless and dangerous
    manner whilst on one wheel?

I was looking at used ZX6R/CBR6 about 1-2 yrs old. The £25.00 was
separate from the insurance excess, and I was told that the £1000.00
excess applied even for a small amount of damage, and I was lucky to
be even allowed a test ride with the weather being foggy and damp. Oh
yes and ideally 24hrs notice (not unreasonable though).

Reason for going there in the first place was the largish selection
available, although I've always been put off by their forecourt
storage. All the chains, sprockets etc had rust showing, which, whilst
they could be tidied up don't appeal when considering payment.
