No, you can get clam chowder all over the place. It's OK. Isn't it
normally referred to as New England clam chowder? So probably not
invented in California. Eating it out of a hollowed out loaf of bread
looks disgusting and very touristy, though.

There are some good restaurats on Fisherman's Wharf, too. I had a very
nice lunch there (oysters) last Sunday[1] and I used to eat there
occasionally even when I lived in SF.

[1] Work has had me in Chicago, then Geneva, then Santa Clara for
successive weeks. I'm not sure, at the moment, whether I will survive the
    jet lag.

Two kinds of clam chowder - New England, with a cream base, and
Manhattan, with a tomato base. Of course, there are also fish, potato,
corn, and other chowders. My local fish market makes a great New
England chowder. The bread bowl thing is a bit strange.

I'm much, much more likely to die by accident than top myself.

I couldn't be bothered, apart from anything else.

I said this months ago, but apparently it's not. I was reliably informed
that it's just me and my newsreader.

Now... can I have my newsreader back please?

If it's bad and it gives you something to crow about, then probably.

    You're worse than a fucking anti-semite.
