....you test drive your brother's new Civic Type-R and think it's a bit
    slow.

Nice car but not the demon drive I'd been led to believe.

They're a bit more blokey but not by much.

Thing is, any hot-hatch or small warm/hot coupe/cabrio/roadster gets
called a hairdressers car these days.

    It's a shame.

Ben was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Most cars are rather slow compared to bikes, and very few have the
    same fun factor...

Y'know, I just bet that _nobody_ here knew that.

    As you're answering life's mysteries ... I've noticed that, on average, I
get wetter on days when it's raining; why is that?

Apparently you have to rev the tits off them - they're entertaining for
about 1000rpm before the red line. Apparently.

Oh yeah, I redlined it in 1st, 2nd and 3rd with my brother having
kittens in the passenger seat[1]. It goes, no question about that,
but it still felt like there was a little something missing.

Maybe 200bhp missing. 190 is good but obviously not enough.

[1] It's second hand and done 5000 miles so not doing that on a new
    engine.

one of my contractors has one (the older body shape). It's OK, but
essentially a fairly fast shopping-trolley. One of my other guys has a
much-modded Lotus Elise, and that's a lot more fun. But less room for
    beer in the back, obviously.

Aye, it's got about the same level of kit and finish inside as my 10
    year old 1.3 DX.
I can't even get in an Elise. The sysadmin at my old company had one
and the only way I could test drive it was to take the roof off.

heh - one of the benefits of being a short-arse is that I can fit in
    any car I've ever tried.
