    It's usually easier to do it right first time.

    Incidently it's gratifying to note that news via pipex does get
    propagated eventually - not that this was in any way a test.

    to realise after much shaking and cursing that you have put the top back on

    Under the foil they all look the same, and I usually have no desire to
    replace the cork/cap once the bottle is open. However I agree it quicker
    to unscrew lids.

    I've yet to experience a corked wine, mind you I've made some
    home-brew shockers.
    It's gone already; Port and Brandy next.

    indeed it gets misued...
    Indeed it generally does, but in a chilled wine - you may not notice
    this until it's warmed up considerably.
