You know that discussion a while back abour sleeping in cars?

  1. That's the thing, they weren't. They were friendly and professional
and just following due process. It's the law in this situation that
    was a ****.

Logical process to me is as I was in a private carpark that they knock
on the window, breatho me and say "you're being naughty as you still
have access to a public road. We'll take your keys back to the station
and when you have sobered up and can come down and blow below the
limit, we'll give them back to you. Now go back to sleep". Makes more
    sense to me.

  3. I might as well add an addendum to the addendum as we are now making
    it public.

My girlfriend came to court with me for support in the morning and we
went and had some coffee and lunch in the mall. We parted ways after
lunch. I talked to her mid-afternoon and got an SMS from her around
    9pm while I was working.

About 4 hours later she walked out the door of her parents place and
it is obvious she jumped off the Tasman Bridge.

So it was not a real good ending. I couldn't give a **** about my
drivers licence. I just want her back.

I've been a fucking mess all week.

  7. Yeah, got lots of good friends giving me lots of support. Just got to
keep occupied and around people or I'll curl up in a ball.

Wish I could do something to help or make a difference.

All I can tell you is "it'll take time - hang in there".

they'll risk driving home, rather than being forced to walk, particularly if
they can't catch a taxi, tram or train home.

The other option, too, I s'pose, is not to drink.

    **** that, of course...

But having said all this, back when I wuz a lud, in my tricked out panel van
days, I always ensured that the keys were hidden somewhere and that no-one was
able to see into the back of the van.

Hang in there Kevin. Just take it one day at a time. Many years ago my
nephew (bother's son), 23, one year old daughter, had an argument with his
wife, she went home to mum. Her mum went around next morning to talk to him
and found him sitting on the lounge, shotgun on the floor, brains on the
ceiling. Took a long time before my brother could talk about it. The little
    girl now has grandchildren.
