I think it would help a lot if people who came out with this manner of

Because potatoes are *carbohydrates* (and other things) and thus
actually fix carbon out of the atmosphere - like all plants. So if
2.2lbs of potatoes release 1lb of CO2, that means they actually *soak up
more fucking CO2 than they emit*.

National newspaper journos make me despair, sometimes.

I think they should actually be hung by the *bollocks* rather than the neck,
makes a better connection to what they're sprouting. For the women amongst
them, I'm sure we can come up with something appropriate.

Just wait until they use the same logic on rainforest trees and find out
that we have to chop them all down to save the planet. Seriously, any 10
year old should know roughly how photosynthesis works.
