YO: You know the world is mad when...

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Oct 20, 2009.

  1. The BNP considers trying to recruit black members, and then, in response
to an attack by the Bitish Army, describes its senior officers as
    behaving like Nazis.

    It's just too surreal :))

Certainly should. I can't quite understand why people want the BBC not to
have this Griffin bloke on QT. We all find his politics reprehensible (don't
we?) but he is a member of a legitimate political party.

I wonder if they will ever wake up and realise the real enemy is white and
slightly harder to spot in the street.

As for the little strop by Army wallas, I was overcome by the stink.

    Why bother.
You know spickle is reading this thread anyway , and he'll wait till he
spots something he can take out of context and crosspost it then.

You seem like an intelligent bloke so I can't really believe you think the
BNP are a real problem or worthy of more than a few seconds of media
    protest.

If you have an itch, do you ignore it, let it fester and slowly infect
your entire leg - or do you have a scratch and fix the problem before it
    gets out of hand?

I don't. I think they deserve to be ignored, and I'm happy to oblige.

My point was simply that the appeal in watching Question Time, with
the BNP participating, can only be the same as in watching a fight,
given there will be equally little political debate.

Which will be a shame. Rather than have an hour of:

    "You're racists"
    "No, we're not"
    "Yes, you are"

ad infinitum, it would be better (IMO) to keep the questioning as close
to the normal format as possible. This way, people wil be able to see
exactly how little detail they have on "real" policies.[1]

[1] Of course, if they *do* have policy detail, then it could backfire!

I rather think it will be the biggest test to date of Mr Dimbleby.

Griffin is a slightly amiable buffoon type who will stay clam and smiling,
But how carefully will the audience be vetted.
