One of the toughest things to accept is I am the same person as I've always been. I now present myself differently. Another things people get in the heads is I'm two people.Alan and Molly. This is again wrong wrong. I've always been female I'm just waiting for my body to catch up with me.
<FX: looks> Here's where you find out that UKRM can at times be /mostly/ tolerant. Enjoy the ride, it won't be easy.

Whenever I'm in the unlikely position, etc...etc... (no objections though, you have my support) Wow, that is something. I've never met you as Alan, so can't really comment on this as a whole of course. Your internet persona must have been a reflection of who you pretended to be, I really wouldn't have thought I would read a post like this... At first I thought it was a bit of a pisstake, but the more I read, the less likely it is. One thing that really struck me is that your Christian friends accepted you, or at least the few you published. I hope this is a general consensus in your parish No reason to hide anymore.... Well I'd be expected to recommend the 'Leccy Chair or summat most likely! Then again I've always been kinda immersed in non mainstream behaviour. I don't know you at all but it sure as was a surprise post, in fact the best ever, nice one. How you behave from here on in both depends on and will largely dictate the quality of the ride. Just be Molly, the person, female, the bike rider, middle aged and almost past it but not giving up. People will relate to you surprisingly well. Yeah a few will be looking oddly at you, a few will snigger, a few might give you stick, but the vast majority will not *if* you are just the person and not some alternative statement. OTOH if Molly is a Transvestite, a Transexual, a campaigner, a political statement first and the everyday person second then you are going to spend much of your life in anger and dissapointment unless being part of the everyday mainstream does not figure in your plan. See, lots of alternative types these days want to wear the difference on their sleeves but they want everyone else to either ignore it or tell them how wonderful it is or tell them how really normal it actually is. What they get instead is all the shit of the world dumped on them, then they get all upset. Tough shit, it's a rough old world, dog eat dog, it was cast in stone that way and it ain't going to get easier and most of us just don't give a ****. I expect you know that from the business world. Depends what you want really. Having a sense of humour will of course be essential, I can see from the reworked background on your website that you are a really funny girl though.
Thought for a minute you'd done something really out of character like buy a moped. <Gower spaceship leaves Mars heads to warmer planet> strewth... that is brave. It's one thing knowing something and big feckin leap to doing something about it. Funny it was the photos and the science part together which made it made it "real". We've only met a couple of times and getting my head around it is 0.000001% of what you must have had to do over however many years. Guess there is still some pretty painful stuff to deal with, spec with the family. Fortune favours the brave so luck should be on your side.
Alan.T.Gower says... Wow. I wasn't sure if it was serious or not at first. Now I'm jealous 'cos you're slimmer than me with bigger boobs.. ;o) Don't bother with hiding, the small-minded ones that can't get their heads around it aren't worth worrying about. I think it's a big decision you have made, but I feel sure you won't regret it.
