    Yes!
Cancel any bids about 12 hours before. I think that's the ebay rules, but
    check on the help page.

Don't quote me on this but I think you can change anything on the
auction as long as it's had no bids and there are more than 12 hours to
go. I know you can do this with the description/title etc but reserves I
don't know about because I've never done it/had one.

Been thru all this recently trying to sell wife's cage. Eventually - and i
mean eventually - ebay human mailed to say it is a current 'issue' which
they are trying to resolve. Clearly hasn't been resolved and can't imagine
they are really that arsed about it.
I just let it run and would have cancelled, if neccessary (it wasn't)

Thought so. I doubt whether I'll get over the £1800 trade-in I've already
been offered as there are alot of people watching it but few bidding.

You are right but there were already bids. I have added a message saying
that I will withdraw it on Sunday if bids haven't reached what I've been
offered by the dealer. I haven't mentioned the actual amount, so I think it
    conforms to ebay rules.

One new rule on ebay from today: you can't surcharge for paypal or nochex
    fees anymore.

With that many watching, expect a late flurry with an hour to go.

How do you know how many are watching?

  10. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
The new ebay seller's page lets you know, I've heard.

But if I have to withdraw it early, it won't be there with an hour to go.

So the plan is to mark random bits of tat as "watched" to give the seller
    false hope. Excellent.
