It suffered from the mass airflow sensor problem, the clutch cylinder
problem, and the loose connector for the throttle position sensor problem.
All fixed under warranty. There's a couple of very minor dents, the lip
spoiler under the front bumper is a bit gap-toothed, and it needs a good
    clean. Otherwise fine.
    Yup. This lot:

Come off it. I'm not going to be letting any sort of contract without
detailed cost breakdowns, implementation plans, backout plans, guarantees
and indemnities, insurances, licences and approvals, due diligence, client
approval of senior contract staff and third party contractors and suppliers,
environmental impact statements, regulatory compliance and waivers etc, all
included in the estimated prime cost. If you haven't budgeted for this sort
of thing, how have you arrived at your bid figure?

You're *good*. You've been with BigBloo what, two months? And yet you
sound like you've been there all your life.

Oh. Wait. This is a DEC thing, right?

Hold on, have you signed an NDA yet?

If not then even discussing this kind of thing is a no-no.

    :)

Construction and oil exploration before that, and retail management before
    that.

I'm having it tattooed on my dick. There's plenty of space on the
    underside.
Prior art. Bullshit picked up over the years. For instance,
"implementation plan" is straight out of ITIL, and I haven't seen EPC
mentioned since I left Bovis at the end of '87.

It worries me that SteveH's next career move will be into oil exploration.

"No, no, we don't want to go looking for any of that expensive shit. Let's
just recycle this old chip fat."

I was in my first "project meeting" for my new job today, when one of
the business analysts said they'd "engineered a process[1] for
    calculating mid-market values".

Dumbfounded, I asked "You've added two numbers together, halved the
sum, and call it 'engineering a process'? No wonder you buggers make
    loads of money."

I'm not 100% sure it went down all that well, tbh.

[1] or some similarly overblown bollocks, icre.

Hmm, but working on the underside could add risk, might have to be 2p a
letter, plus costs for support staff.
Heh. I meant the whole corporate thing of using the NDA as a bargaining
tool, by either side.. "Is it signed... We can't talk until it is.."

Mexican standoff, but with lawyers... and tedium.

I ruled them with a (tattooed) rod of iron. I was feared, /feared/ I tell
you. Those were the days when it meant something to be a manager of a shop.
I was a respected member of the community. I could witness the backs of
passport photographs, I was Grand Arch Trouser-Legger at my local Lodge, I
officiated at birchings. The young scrotes you get running shops nowadays
wouldn't have the faintest notion of how to conduct themselves at a hiring
    fair.

I *love* old Jaguars. I'd like one of each, from SS100 to XJ-6 series
    2 Coupe.

The rest can go and **** themselves, although I saw that Racing Green
had an 2000 model (X300?) with 450bhp, That looked nice - a real
    sleeper.

    Okay, here goes.

    Don't buy a Mk4 Golf 2.0 GTI.

The only good thing about it is it's resale value.

Thinking of getting rid next year, considering either a 3 series coupe or a
    FOAD 4WD.

Not been following this so may have been suggested, but given your
requirements, I'd go for a 3 year old 2.0l Mondeo & spend the rest on a
Koni Sports suspension upgrade, nitrous, & a turbo kit if there was
enough left in the pot. 'Q' cars rock.
