30-40 miles. Lovely crossing of the track with a tunnel. And voices say near
Costa Brava there will be a smaller 2500m x 10m circuit by early 2008.

The one you've posted a link to looks like an interesting circuit to
ride on. If the run offs are good and the price is good then they
should be able to attract the British punters on winter trips.

Really? It doesn't get very warm in that part of Spain in winter and your
typical sports bike rider is unlikely to ride to a UK port, let alone
consider a schlep across France or Northern Spain to get there.

Quite. Mine's tucked up in the garage.

Hang on - "sports bike"? Oh, as you were.

You should have a look at how many UK companies are running trackdays
in Spain over the winter months and how many are fully booked, most of
them arrange bike transport so all you need to do is book the holiday
and then find the cheapest flights. It's not really that expensive if
you're into trackdays and anywhere in Spain has to be better than
Mallory Park in mid February. You're going to work for Veronica Moser?
    Respect.

Are those track days a few km from the Pyrenees or a few km from Africa in
Jerez? Makes a bit of difference.
I sense a whoosh, WTF are you on about?

Heh, I'd posted that to CT (along with a bit of post editing) so
somehow I must have copied it to this post. This is why I don't bother
with proof reading, it'd take out all the fun.

I wasn't even pissed last night so I've no excuses.

  12. I wouldn't want to go to Northern Spain in the winter. The weather's
    worse than in the UK.

    It rains and it rains...

    And it's cold.

Cartegena's as far north as I'd go.

    Depends.

By the seaside, from Galicia to Navarra it does rain. And a lot.

But the coldest place is not the north (a nearby sea always warms weather)
but the central part, the "meseta" (hundreds of kms around Madrid). Flat,
cold, boring. It is undestandable that centuries ago people fucked off to
discover some part of the world, kill native males and rape native females.
Then, there are the mountains. Chateau Domenec's province (Teruel) has a
20th century record of -50 Celsius (-58 Fahrenheit) in 1937. Historian
Pierre Vilar wrote that climate of central Spain is somewhere near Poland.
Wise idea. But plan yourself a trip to Mora de Rubielos, Teruel, next june
for dago.charla.moteros 10th anniversary. We have scientific interest in how
much free beer ("free" as in "free software") a human body can admit.

Pah, the rainiest place in Spain is Grazalema, just round the corner from
you (OK, 100 kms, but relatively close).

  17. Next June's an awfully long way off for planning a trip, but yeah, I
presume details will be on the web site? Must see if my login still
    works...

Oh, and I've recently halved my consumption of beer, so one or two of
you might be in with a chance of keeping up.

I suppose now would be a good time to start practising pronouncing 'D',
'S' and 'Z' correctly and leaving out a few of the "coños", "cojones"
and "hostias" if I'm to speak to non-catetos.

  18. The rain in Spain falls mainly in the mountains. It hardly ever rains
    on the plain.

No, it's on the side of a small mountain, which creates a weather trap.

That old rhyme is bollocks. Shocking news, I know.
