My son recently laid his bike down. It wasn't bad and I rode the bike
home for him (his hands were pretty scraped up). The bike appears
fine except for a few scrapes.
Anyway, I did a little cleaning of it to get the dirt and blood (he
tried to get it upright) removed. I forgot the remove the key. Now
the ignition switch works very hard. I'm assuming it needs lubricated
but I'm leery of squirting anything in the keyway.
    Any suggestions?

  2. WD40 squirted into the lock will do no harm and quite possibly will
    help.

The point of the post was how to lubricate the key mechanism. I
didn't know it was specific to year and type of bike. The WD40 did
    the trick.
