Old one. 1994 import. I seem to remember they were fairly bullet proof.
Anything to look out for in particular?

Dunno. My 1996 YZ250 (the faux WR250) seems pretty well made. Having
said that, there is an unpleasant graunch[1] from somewhere down in the
bottom rear suspension link area. The 94 TTR250 rear end looks a similar
    set up.

[1] Probably as a result of having to support some huge French bloke
whilst being blasted along rocky forest trails.

This is the one based on the old XT350 lump. Pretty lame and fairly fragile,
especially if used offroad in any way. I'd avoid unless really cheap.
The newTTR250 is pretty good. A guy who comes out offroading with us has
one. If he can't break it, noone can.

Well, thanks for the input :)
The one I was after has now gone anyway.

Why are trials bikes so bloody expensive?
    I've been looking for ages.
I have a whim that involves me conjuring some time out of thin air and
filling it with zooming around old tracks like I did a as boy in days
    of yore.
Of course this extra 'time' is a nonsense, It exists in tiny amounts in
my world and I already fill it up quite nicely.
Point being I want a reliable t&t'd 250 ish bike for a few hundred quid
and they don't seem to exist.......

If you want a trials bike, why are you looking at TTR250s?

    /hands up

Sorry. I do know the difference. I'm just reckless about it.
I'll probably get a smack in the mouth about it one day.
I feel like a Merkin when I say trail or dirt bike,
I feel old when I say scrambler.
