You don't think it strange that the Yamaha symbol is that of three tuning forks (I am of course
assuming you knew what they were)? Yamaha have been making musical instruments a heck of alot longer
    than they've been making motorcycles.

Yeah.. but it's preeedy fucking cool that one day they said "Hey, let's
    make a motorcycle!"

    Love those Japanese.

  5. Yeah its funny how many caaahns turn and say... fuggen what ! when they
learn that kawasaki build helicopters and other aircraft.... yet
everybody knows that mitsubishi build airconditioners, etc etc.... at
least in SA they do anyway.

instruments a heck of alot longer
And as a ex-professional guitarist, I can certainly see the sense of such an
instrument. It's a non-essential item, you could get by without one, but it
    would have its uses.

And the music division of Yamaha is larger than their motorcycle division.
Try visiting www.yamaha.com.au and see where it takes you.

To be exact... "let's make a racing motorcycle that will put the wind up
everyone else". And they did, and it did.

The YA1 beat all comers in its first race. I think it was a longish
distance road race, not a short circuit sprint, just to really rub their
    noses in it!

I used to have a Yamaha Alto saxophone (YAS-62 - At the time it was 1 step down from the customised
model). The Yammy's were the ones to have in the alto range.

  9. Not unique - do a Google search for travel guitar.

Maybe it's unique for being a silent model... or maybe not.

The best travel guitar (IMHO) is the Baby Taylor, a beautiful full sound,
plays damn well and about the same price as the Martin (which sounds like a
orange crate and is ugly to boot).

  15. Not what I'd really class as a travel guitar. They are normally
    bodyless and collapsible ...
