    Hello,

I recently bought a Yamaha SRV250J (the Renaissa), but i mightve been a
bit hasty because i can find NO information about it; its almost like
it doesnt exist in australia. Ive been trying to get hold of a service
manual for it, but most of the yamaha dealers look at me blankly when i
    mention the model.
I stumbled on this forum whilst trying to google up some info on the
bike, and it seems to me there might be some people who can help me? If
there is anyone who candirect me, thatd be just tops.

Hope I can contribute to this forum in future,

    Bill

Mick Hone gave me one as a loaner once so he must know about them.

They exist, they were an Australian imported model. I owned the earlier
    version of your bike.

Basically they are a slightly differently tuned XV250 motor in a retro style
naked frame. They didn't sell particularly well but have a good reputation.

I would try a different dealer, any dealer worth their salt should know the
    model.

    Very nice 250's though.

Brilliant little bikes, a friend of mine had the previous model and it
always brought a grin to my face, engine is basically the same as the
Virago of similar year. Although the carbs may be different.

Try this link to Yamaha Australia Web Page, the J Model owners manual is in
    PDF for a download.
I ahd one too, and one of the best bikes of the many that I've owned.
