    Hi all,

My 2004 R6 hit the dirt today when somebody reversed their car into it.
Damage: Broken brake lever, broken right fairing, bent exhaust and lots
    of chips and scratches.

I got lucky this time as I saw it happen and got insurance details,
next time, maybe not so lucky. So what can I do to offer some
protection for my baby? Are the Yamaha Roller Protectors any good for
    this kind of thing?

    Cheers

  2. I don't know, but I have had some misfortune with my 2003 R6, only
last week. Basically I dropped it while pushing it, stupid I know,
but the sting in the tail was that the front fairing, brake master
cylinder, kill switch and mirror landed right on the edge of a 1ft
high wall as it landed. The damage didn't end there though, cos it
scuffed the lower side fairing, scuffed the exhaust and snapped the
peg on the rearset. The conclusion that I came to though was that the
crash bungs/roller protectors (if they were fitted, which they
weren't) would have do no good whatsoever as the bike didn't land flat
down on its side. Its the luck of the draw...
