    Hi all,

I have a '80 DT250MX which has an electrical problem (no sparks) and I am
pretty sure it is the CDI unit. According to my parts book the number for
the CDI is IM2-85540-20 and checking on the spiffing Yamaha US web site
http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/ I find that other bikes such as the DT 175
and IT175 have the same part number except for the prefix - DT175 is
    3J0-85540-20 and IT175 is 2W6-85540-20.

Anyone know if the parts are interchangeable as I am having a real problem
tracking down a CDI in this country but there are a few on Ebay in the US
    for the IT175.

    Any info much appreciated

    Cheers, Paulie

Go for it mate, worth a try if it's cheap enough.
