Just wondering how these are to ride? Am about to take the next step up in
motorbikes and thinking a 600 odd cc is a good size. Thinking about the
Ducati monster and this looks similar without the price tag of the monster
and I daresay easier to obtain parts for, any feedback appreciated.

Never ridden one, but love my Fazer 1000. The 2004 Fazer 6 got rave reviews
in the UK bike press. The price there seems to be about 300-500 pounds less
    than the Duc Monster 620.

excellent bike , motor based on the yzf600r thundercat motor , simple frame
design, okay suspension ( i found the front forks way to soft but i weight
over 100k's) , plenty fast enuff and cheap to run.

very well likes and heaps of sites support the bike.

excellent first big bike, just watch the brakes, sumitomo blue spots = lots
    of brakes

The 2004 model has an R6 engine that has been "retuned for greater midrange
acceleration" (according to their marketing department.) Claimed crank power
    is 98 bhp.

It also has an underseat can, 43mm adjustable front forks (off the FZ1) and
a 70mm longer swingarm than the old version.

Some day someone will design a bike with 1 pipe out each side, and the
    world will stop...

It just so happens that I'm planning on selling mine. If your interested in
4 year old one that is. It's a great bike, ideal trade up from a 250. It was
my first bike and I haven't stuffed it up. 1999 model (FZS600L) All original
(exept the air filter which is a K&N). Black paintwork (with some tankbag
scratches unfortunately). 35000Km, regularly serviced, no moving drops (only
the standard disklock drop and that was only once).

I've only just decided to sell so I will put up a webpage with some photos
    in a couple of days.

I'm looking for something like $6000 but I'm open to reasonable negotiation.

Oh yes and I'm in Sydney, eastern suburbs.

drop me a line on 0415 436557 or email me on if
you're interested or just want to know more about Fazers in general.

    replace woohoo with yahoo

Got my 98 model (red) about a year back now and have put 10,000k on it
since with not a hint of a problem.

The only things I can think of is that it has a narrowish front tyre
for the size of the bike and the same stoppers as on an R6 to pull it
up... so you'll be getting about 15,000 out of front tyres if you are
lucky. Light, easy to chuck around. The bike will feel longish -
there is a fair reach to the bars. Plenty
of under seat storage (currently I have a small bike road atlas, wet
pants, disc lock, tool kit, puncture kit under there and have space
for a set of thermals left over in winter).

Has good fold back mirrons in case you want to get thru tight laneways
with cars parked in them (that's livin in the inner city for ya!).
Lights are reasonable. Gear change is snikkey snick. Okay seat. The
tank feels pretty wide at fiest, but you get over it. If you want the
service manual for it I have it in PDF format.

Power is easy and predictable with a reasonably linear torque curve
(predicatable - you get what you ask for), and enough power to keep
    you happy.

There is definitely faster stuff (anything with an R in the name),
there is definitely better commuting stuff (dual sports are better
with the conditions of roads these days!) and more comfortable
tourers. But I king of bought this bike wanting something that could
be a bit of all things - and that's exaclty what it is.

Do a search on google for 'FOC-U' and you'll get a link to the Fazer
Owners Club in the UK. Plenty of support there.. and very few known
    problems.

    Anything else, jsut ask.
