YA what is the best bike thread?

Now... I'm a sort of born again biker, in that I rode lots in my early
years; had a company car for 10 years but still had the bike, then
realised I wasn't using it so got rid. I then went and got a nice new
job with no company car so decided to go back to the bike for my work
commute.

I purchased one of Mr Yamaha's finest 600 Diversions as it looked a bit
like them bikes wot I used to ride, was about the right price and only
had 3500 miles on it and had been ridden by a girlie from new; although
my early stable was hardly inspiring: CB100N, CB250G5 (Yes, yes, it was
cheap as chips!), X7, CB400N, CB550N and errm, an XJ600 (Old style)

Anyway, to come to the point, I've just booked the Divvy in for it's
regular love-in with the dealers (44k service) and they asked me if I
wanted a courtesy bike for the day. "Well," quoth I, "what would I be
riding?" " A new style Fazer" say's he. "Ooh, never tried one of those,
I'll avail myself of your kind offer then."

So, I now have the use of a new(ish) Fazer for a day. Never ridden one,
and I'm not sure I like this 'Exhaust Pipe up the Crack of your Arse'
design either. I suppose I am looking at an appropriate replacement for
the 600S - I mean, it's been bloody reliable but it won't last for ever
will it?

So, any thoughts on this Fazer thing and should I see it as a serious
contender for a Divvy replacement?

And, no, I don't want one of Timo's BMWs!
