xv1100 igniter

hi guys & gals

i had trouble with my igniter box a few years back (plastic type 1ta-
20). a guy told me that there was no where to get it repaired but
maybe i should try to resolder all the joints (what did i have to
lose)

it worked fine ... i was amazed

but now its gone for good :-(

i am in the uk and short of buying new ($500) i cant get hold of one
from a breaker (wreaker)

anyone got one they no longer need? or maybe a broken one i could try
and make good out of the two

also, will one of the other type igniter (metal) box's fit?

my bike is a 1986 xv1100s

i have done lots of work over the years on this bike and hope to be
able to repay you guys in info in time to come

A lot of Virago owners swap out the original ignition module for a
Dyna2000 model. You might consider posting on a Virago Owner's forum
to see if you can pick up a unit that has been replaced. Short of
that, the Dyna 2000 module can be had for under $200.00 US
