I am trying to remove said flywheel and have removed center bold. Screwed in
flywheel puller, tightened up and the bastard will NOT come off no matter
how much hitting with rubber mallet/copper hammer etc will do anything.

Anyone have any [1] suggestions if im missing something here. Is there only
the center bolt to remove (can't see anything else). Angle grinder and
    welding gear are standing by.

Ok, its a 91 model, but other flywheels I have removed in the past have come
off easier. Its cooled down so is warmish, maybe when cold?

This is driving me nuts and it has to come off cos the crank seal has gone
    behind it.

What sort of puller is it? If its quite substantial then a good tap on the
puller bolt, and then a go with an air nut gun should remove it.

If it still wont move, then the flywheel key may have been lose in the
keyway, and be jamming the flywheel on the taper. You can get round this be
carefully drilling down into the keyway, and getting rid of the jammed key.

If you do start using angle grinder or welding gear, make sure you can get
    another flywheel.

Yeah we all know to get a MAPP torch onto the alternator until it glows
cherry red then hit the puller with a sledge hammer with moderate force

He's an idiot for suggesting trying to drill out a flywheel key. I'd
sooner **** the flywheel by giving it too much stick with a hydraulic
puller than **** up the crankshaft keyway with a pistol drill.

Aren't those keys hardened, just a little bit?

Nope. Keys aren't hardened because that way they'll shear rather than
the crankshaft performing an expensive party trick.

Without seeing a drawing I can't be sure but I wouldn't be shocked to
find that the key is a woodruff key or an enclosed one rather than an
open ended keyway on the crank and unless someone has developed a way
to drill square holes then you just can't drill them out.

Did you really waste time googling for that?

All he has to do now is scale it down so it'll cut small enough holes
and make it capable of cutting steel just to add to the fun. The XT350
will have been dead for a long while before that happens.

Could do spark erosion I suppose but it will just fall off if he does
    the fucking thing properly!

I don't know why I waste my time explaining why kenny the kunt is
wrong but it's too easy to resist.

    Yep, all of 2 seconds.
It's dead now, it can stay dead.
