    Hi all,
I imported an XT350 from japan to new zeland recently and have just
found out i cant actually register it for road use because I didnt
import it through the "official" channels, therefore they wont give me
a compliance plate. The guy in the motor registry told me that a
common way around this is to buy a second hand frame and swap over all
    the parts.

I've called around all the wreckers and the only frame i could find
was an XT250. They are both the same year (1992). They guy couldnt
tell me whether they were compatible or not. It's only $100,
including delivery, but way too far for me to actually go and take a
look; can anyone tell me if these frames are the same, or at least
similar enough that I can get away with it?

Being able to register it as a 250 would be beneficial to me also,
less tax, and due to silly rules over here, when I sell it someone on
their Learner license might buy it because they are restricted to
    250's.

    Thanks a lot
