XS750 Interchangeable Parts

    I just bought a 77 Yamaha XS750D Triple. I am wanting to customize it.
    I've been riding bikes for years, but never really worked on them.
    What is the best way to find out what parts (body, accessories, engine
    etc.) are interchangeable with other bikes. Should I just post
    specific parts questions to this group or are there manuals/websites
    that have that kind information.

    Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
