    are you over 75 then or is this a retrospective claim for when the
    allowance was universal?

    "The married couple's allowances are only available to taxpayers born
    before 6 April 1935 and are reduced by £1 for every £2 of income above the
    income limit (£18,300). However, they cannot be reduced below the minimum
    amount of £2,150. The higher levels of personal allowance are reduced
    before the higher levels of married couple's allowance."

    On Sat, 20 Dec 2003 16:49:15 +0000,
    I'll "get mine" in February. Apparently, according to the boss, I'll
    be a "very happy man" in February. I do hope his idea of "very happy"
    is similar to mine.

    Well, I just got a good score on the feedback thing which means a decent
    bonus in march, plus I got a bottle of wine from one of the service
    managers (bought with their own cash) so that was nice.

    All in all not a bad day, this.
