xena disclock too sensitive?

Whilst in Hein Gericke getting a new tank bag for a jaunt to Paris
last week, I spotted the Xena (the smaller £50 one), and, having seen
good press here, I bought one. At home I set it (put a piece of metal
in the jaws) and it was fine - needed a decent knock on the coffee
table to set it off, but put it on the bike whilst parked on a
pavement in Paris and the thing went off every time a car went by. I
tried top, middle and bottom of the front disc, which changes the
sensitivity according to the manual, but to no avail. I see that it
isn't adjustable, so does anyone else have this problem, or have any
    ideas?

By the way, the tankbag is great - Blue Oxford Sport one (magnetic),
with rucksack fitting and other straps etc. Got everything I needed
for 4 days away in it and although it was so tall I couldn't see the
bottom of the speedo, it didn't move and is loverly :) although it
    weighs mucho, even when empty....

It's not. I find using the front disc on the inside of the bike, nearer
to the ground, is best for reducing false alarms.

Um I think I put it in the same place. Never had any probs with it.
I clean the sensor and reflector with a cotton bud occasionally though.

It was fine that first night, but I think once it's been nudged and goes
off it ends up in some kind of super paranoia mode.

Maybe it's just that the wind and suchlike doesn't make a lardy old
tourer move quite as much as a sports bike.

I took it to be more like road vibration from passing traffic. I'll
    try the suggested position.
