Along with Dnc and the GTS1000...
That is, if they made it to the ferry on time.

Nice meeting you chaps and I'm looking forward to hearing your first
impressions of the GTS. Hope it didn't rain too much.

I put some of the cash to immediate use and bought a super bling race
push bike with titanium frame and the most expensive Shimano bits and
    bobs (dura-ace).

    Oh, the sun's out now;-)

  2. (eer, I was on the bindit before anyone asks)
Oh yes, we had absolutely minutes to spare.
Likewise, and no, didn't rain much at all.
That bundle of cash has certainly done the rounds a bit sharpish!

    See you soon,

    Dnc

Yep. Not by much, but enough. And we made a Geordie blerk jolly batey by
a judicious queue swap to get checked in in a reasonable time. He
    doesn't think DnC's a very nice man. I couldn't possibly comment.
    It didn't.

    First impressions:

Like. Like lots. It's got a gratifying amount of low-down grunt, hasn't
it? Quick, comfy (except for a slightly over-firm seat, I must
investigate) and smooth. It really doesn't feel like a twelve year-old
    bike.

It does shake its head a little if pressed into a corner a bit quicker
than it's happy with. I may investigate the pre-load and damping.

    <Cue random twiddling>

Many thanks for the lift from Amsterdam. It was really good of you.

    Even better!

    Thanks again.

Everybody! Mike is a jolly nice chap and all-round good egg.

That came out a bit wrong; "...aboard the GTS1000 accompanied by Dnc on
    his Bindit".
    Good good.
The gf has been making enquiries about the rest of it :-/
I'll have to get to Heerenveen sometime.

    Tsk, inconsiderate Geordies.
It does have pretty good low/midrange, it's a retuned FZR lump after
all. It does run out of steam at the top end though.
I agree with you about the seat, it gets a bit hard after a while. Some
people have replaced them with a Corbin item, it's possible you could
    find one somewhere.
I reckon it would benefit from some experimentation, details are in the
    manuals.
I was a bit concerned that you wouldn't be able to find me, I had the
day off anyway. Did quite a lot of driving today, fetching the push-bike
was another 5 hour round trip to Helmond [1].
    Thank you <bows>.

[1] Always wondered about that name - Hellmouth!? Where's Buffy when you
    need her.

Oh no, it all looked pretty civilised (I'd still got my earplugs in). He
wasn't a happy camper because we sorta-kinda queue jumped.

He was in an X-trail, his wife was ugly and he'd got kids. Fukkim.

    Funny, I also noticed that.
What are they like compared to, say, something like a ZN1300 ;-)

And whilst looking at these pics, it would seem I have fitted the
exhaust can mounting tab on the wrong side of the hanging point :-/

I thought it looked a bit odd after doing the relay arm :)
    Ooops.
