    Doh... well spotted.

Erm... VFRs... I can give them up any time I want to... honest.

I've unfortunately been laid off from work this week.

Looks like I won't be as lucky with the next role, as in, it won't be
    walking distance from here.

So I've decided it's probably better to ruin a VFR over the winter than the
R6, which will probably be tucked away once the salt is on the roads until
    the spring.

Aside from anything else, the VFR is more likely to stay sunny side up when
it gets a bit greasy out there.

Mate of mine had one of them in ... 1976. He was a hero because his
Puch was faster than all the Fizzies - and he could outbrake them too.

It met an unfortunate end one night when he was on the way down a slip
road to join a dual carriageway - and met a prick driving a MKIII
Cortina coming up. Said prick had missed the off slip, so flicked his
lights off and screwed it round, then nailed it up the on slip. Puch
impacted bonnet at an estimated combined 70mph, carving a vee nearly
halfway up the bonnet. Rider went through the windscreen (not
laminated then, of course) and all 6'3" of him ended up on the rear
parcel shelf in a hell of a mess.

Cortina and Puch went to the pound on one truck, inextricably linked.

Oops, clumsy. Errr, sorry to hear that I mean.
    London again?
Good plan, but if I were you I'd get a proper tourer instead.

    Blessed are the 'IT Centralisation'isti'...
Hopefully nearer than that. Or maybe even further a field - depends on what
    turns up. :)

FWIW, I'm pretty fed up with 'Managed Service' - AD / Exchange are something
I've managed to get quite handy with, so may try and land something that
focuses more on that than anything else.
Yebbut... I *like* riding VFRs, and they do stupidly high miles with minimal
    maintenance.

That, and I've got access to, quite literally, a shedload of spares for one,
plus still have the Givi Wing Rack etc.

Anyway, enough of that... the A8... given the start price, (and the fact I
missed the end of the auction), CIHAGM? ;-)

When I posted the above, I expected to see something along the lines above
posted by you - you're nothing if not predictable.

But anyway... with regards to karma, if you believe in this, then I think
I'd be ever so slightly worried if I were you...

Fair enough. Best all of us can hope for at the moment.
While I think Exchange is a bad mail server, at least that skill should
    be in demand.
Well, I do like them as well, but you get better weather protection from
a full-on tourer. Helps in the winter etc.
    Good point.
Is that a go that would involve beer tokens? :)

Yesbut - someone's trying to come down next weekend to see it so I guess
it would have to be tomorrow if you wanted to come over. I'm around all
day, most likely stuck in the garage.

It is... just not on my doorstep going by initial forays out into the world
    of job-shites etc.
If a Pan is anything to go by, then I'm not too fussed - I found that last
VFR750 I used for punting back and forth to London ideal in terms of poke vs
    comfort vs manoeuvrability.

Heated grips are my main 'must have' these days on anything I'm going to
ride through winter, and I happen to have two sets of those sitting here...
if I can remember where I've stashed them away.
It will involve a PC processor fan if nothing else. ;-)
Ok... I'll give you bell tomorrow AM.

    As usual then.
Actually the Pan isn't that great when it comes to weather protection -
both the K1100LT and the R1150RT are *much* better. I'd still say the
1100LT wins but I'd like to try the 1200LT at one point because that
looks even "better" in terms of weather protection. But with all the
plastic they're a pain in the arse (read: expensive) to service.
Heh. Sounds like my garage. Agree on the grips, though.
    Sounds like a plan then.
