Why? I don't really know, I've just got this sudded urge to buy a
    small SOHondaCommuter...

So, if anyone has one in good condition, mail me - address here is
    valid.

    Reliable. Predictable. Staid.

These characterisitics will all disappear in a puff of burning oil once you
    buy one...

Akkshirley, what a cracking idea for a TV Show "Challenge Timo"

Every week viewers could submit their idea of the most reliable vehicle they
have ever experienced, and said vehicle could be provided to Herr Geusch for
    a short term trial........

My first choice would be the humble Morris Minor, even SWMBO couldn't
    destroy that one.

    Heh. What a marvellous idea.
I`ll take your Moggie and raise you a Vespa 150 Super. Trust me, I tried
*so* hard. Even neglecting duties such as accurate ignition timing, cleaning
spark plugs, decoking and even using 20/50 in place of 2-stroke oil on
occasion it was absolutely unburstable. 2nd kick every morning and it would
purr along like nowt on earth.

Back to the subject of CB200s, I wonder if in some kind of bizzaro-world
reversal, Timo gets one with a decent working front disc brake?

I think crashing them shouldn't count unless its a result of a previously
    unknown component failure.

Think 1300 Marina engined Minor Traveller[1], with twin 1 1/4 inch SUs
and standard Minor drum brakes approaching the rear of stationary Volvo
340, at a little over the speed limit. Get the picture?

    That's stupidity rather than geuschidity.

    So, no, it doesn't count.

  13. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
Heh. First Moggy crash I had, the Moggy drove away with a dented wing,
leaving behind a Mk2 Crotina with MacPherson struts only held in place
by an upward-forced, but still closed, bonnet.

  14. A Honda 400 Four caliper bolts straight on. plum in a master cylinder,
and you're away. I've seen one so converted.

  15. Not as simple as all that: first, you need to scour Ebag for a 400 Four with
a decent front caliper as a donor bike, swap over the important bits, then
flog the 400 Four - that's been converted to cable caliper - for a profit.
    Or yer name's not TOG...

Christ I really am a blind ****, I am sure you typed CD rather than CB
ISTR someone (TOG possibly) once posting about certain CB200 bits being very
hard to get, but I may be wrong.

Heh, SWMBO had a similar Cortina interface when we had a Minor Traveller.
Front of Cortina (MKIV I think) was trashed, moggy had a small dent which a
friend of a friend beat out for me for a tenner.

    Happy days

    usual hassle.
