And a cylinder head protector from the offcuts.
I was thinking maybe an engine-turned finish.

  2. Already tried that, I thought.

IIRC the boot was on the other foot there.

You could go to Restoration Spares (IIRC). They're generally at the
classic bike shows at Stafford. More new mudguards for Brit bikes than
you could shake a stick at (and they advertise in Old Bike Mart). Or
go to any shop that knows anything about Brit bikes, such as C&D Autos
in Brum, Lightning Spares in Sale, L P Williams in Warwick, or Vale
Onslows in Brum, although they'll be a few bob.

Wastamoney! Armco is already galvanized. The ground off edges would just
    add 'character'.

In standard trim, a Dnepr might be fairly described as having more character
than would ordinarily be considered useful. No point in gilding the lily.

Good points (or perhaps useful blades?).

    Hi Simon,

I think I've got some levers you could have, if you're thinking of the
Wassell etc. type. I'm not sure if they're the type with screw-in
adjusters but I should have some somewhere. I won't be able to check
until the weekend but will let you know when I've checked.

As for the front mudguard, you could have the one off my CZ 250 twin
but I'd rather selll the whole bike! Oh, it's an 18" wheel, I think,
    not 19.

    Regards

Lovely, thanks. The email is valid but let me know if you send anything
to it as I don't normally check this account.

Where are you? Not sure even I could cope with a CZ.

I'm in Fordingbridge in Hampshire. No, you probably don't want to
bother with a CZ, I wasn't really being serious! I've had it for 20+
years but it hasn't run for probably 15 of those! I think you'd be
going down market to get a CZ as you're into MZs. I'd like to get a
Supa 5 myself one day, I'm sure it would be much better than the Super
Dream I currently commute on. And what is the Dnepr like? I've always
rather liked those. Are they the same as Urals?

I had a major clear out (2 BSA A65s, Ariel 350, Mobylette) a few years
ago and I think I got rid of most of my old mudguards then and the CZ
one is the only 'Brit-like' mudguard I know I've got other than the one
on my AJS and you can't have that, sorry!

Anyway, I'll get in the garage on Saturday and see what I can find.
Probably not very good condition but I'd send you a picture so you can
    see if it is suitable.

BTW I am going to sell the CZ when I get round to taking some pictures
of it but I guess the owners club is the best place as they're not very
    popular, are they! I'm also selling a GS850 & FJ1200 but their
    mudguards are no good either!

    All the best

    Hi Simon,

I've sent you an e-mail from the Google Groups site and you asked that
I let you know I've done so. I'm afraid I couldn't find any complete
    levers for you!

    All the best
