My summer jacket, a Belstaff Roadmaster II, has started to fall apart
more than it had the year before (and the year before that) so has anyone
got one (40" - 42" chest) in reasonable nick they want to give away/sell.

Yes! I'm prepared to pay. I've looked on ebay but thought I'd try here
    first.

....and to cap my day even more the guttering has started coming away from
the back of the house. Ladders: hate them.

I find anything involving ladders is best tackled after a few
refreshments. In fact as I get dizzy in thick socks, my usual approach
is to refresh myself until I pass out, then get a man in[1].

[1] To do the laddering - not take advantage of me while I'm passed out.

This is the waxed cotton article you're asking about?

By some strange quirk of fate, I have an article of clothing of the type
you describe. It has been hanging up in the attic, collecting dust for a
few years now, 'cos I never use it.
    Size; 42"
    Condition; very good but dusty.

I shan't be giving it away, so make me an offer, bear in mind that I've
had a quick look on ebay ;-)

I can take a few photos if you want.

Replied, I'll get me camera. Don't look at the dust.
