I am looking for a ventura rack & bag. They don't actually make one for my
bike (96 Zephyr 750) so I guess I'm going to be fabricating brackets to
suit. If anyone has a rack (with or without bag) lying in the shed, please
    let me know.

Rod, Given any thoughts towards a gear-sack? at least that way you can
buy the bag with out the rack...

  3. I've got a brand new condition Ventura rack with brackets to suit a TDM900.
No bag and the rack is currently hanging on the garage wall. Was fitted for
around two weeks. $80 if you're interested. I'm in the lower Blue
    Mountains.

The problem is that you can't easily remove the gearsack rack. I want to be
able to put it on for work during the week, and just slip it off for weekend
    jaunts.

Al, I AM interested. Are you able to do the following for me please:

    1. Measure the distance between the connecting tubes (i.e. how wide the
rack is) to make sure it's not too narrow, or ridiculously wide for my
    bike.

    2. If you have access to a digital camera, could you please take a
couple of pics, especially of the mounting kit, so I can determine how
hard it will be to modify it. My e-mail address is
    rodb@_REMOVE_baconplanet.com

    Thanks.

Thanks to all those that responded, aspecially Al who went to the trouble to
send me the pics. As it turns out, a mate of mine bought a huge box of
Ventura and Gearsack bits at the Peter Stevens fire damage sale (about $5
grand worth, RRP), and had a complete kit for me. The rails off a GPZ1100
will fit my Zephyr with minimal hacksawing.

If anyone else needs anything, let me know. He has a heap of Honda and
Triumph ventura kits (and some others).
