I'm in the market for a newbie bike. Something with at
least as much fairing as an SV650S, but would like
full fairing. Preference for price over perfection,
and not at all worried about making mechanical or
cosmetic fix-ups. I need a little bike to last as
long as it will take me to get the skills, confidence
and full license that I need to handle an SV :)
(wild and overconfident guess at 3-6 months?!?!?)

Anyone know of anything on the market, or soon to
go on the market? I would even be happy with a
private rental and a "I break it, I buy it clause".

    TIA,

    G

You would think so, yes, but in practice, no. I tried a
VTR250 on for size yesterday, at SCM in Lane Cove. It just
didn't fit me - didn't feel right for a whole bunch of
reasons. Seemed quite tall and lanky, sitting position,
    blah-di-blah.

I was very comfy on an SV650S - that bike fits me like a
glove - and things like GPZ250 and GPX/ZZR250 also felt fine,
    if a little small (I'm 5ft10in tall). CBR250 left my bum a
bit too close to the ground for comfort. VFR is something
else that I've tried in the past, and was quite comfortable
on, though I have to wait until I grow up before I can have
one of those. Can't do the MOST on a VFR750 :-(

What I did note though was that just about *anything* fits
better than the CB250's that HART use for entry level
    training!

    Thanks,

    G

  7. Of course, if it's anything like his other VTR, its probably worn out with
    1,000,000kms on the clock.
