See the last paragraph. I can't figure out what they mean by a "creek" holding up FIM approval. Does that mean they would change the track, and/or possibly go outside the oval course? I've been there once and can't figureout what they mean but I know outside the backstretch there is some grassy area and I think indeed, a creek. -Bob
Going to Google images and typing in Indianapolis Motor Speedway will bring up some maps of the track / infield areas. It may be that they're referring to the water hazard along the infield road course. John

You can see it on Google images. The creek is just at the entrance of the curve on the lower left hand side, going clockwise as the F1 drivers do, right where the pit lane separates from the race course. It looks like there is some small drainage ditch feeding into it from the left that parallels the pit road.

Nice. OK, so my question is what does MotoGP and/or WSBK want done to the track which affects this area?
