    If anyone's going then drop me a line or give me a buzz on 07767 458 151,
    should be there both days if you fancy a beer.

    Could some kind person[1] possibly stick it on a DVD for me please, as I
    still haven't managed to get my setup talking properly.

    VirginMedia Samsung DigiBox
    Pioneer DVD Player
    Toshiba DVD Recorder
    Old 24" Sony WS TV with two scarts.

    I think I'll end up ditching the pioneer dvd player, but I don't want to as
    its multiregion and a nice player with a better picture than the Tosh.

    [1] or some cun*, not fussed really, beer tokens, blank DVD or similar in
    the post in return for the favour.

    It's scheduled to record.
    At some point as:
    Ditto. However, I may be able find time to convert the files to .avi
    format but leave adverts etc. in before I go.

    What are you using to convert from MPEG to (presumably) DivX or XVid?

    mencoder from http://www.mplayerhq.hu to get into DivX format.
