In a couple of hours the WSB season starts. In all the commentary and predictions I've seen, nobody seems to mention Gimbert or Cardoso much. I have a strong suspicion that they will end up as top Yamaha riders. But here's the thing. What has Cardoso been doing since he left GPs? Is it Endurance on a Yamaha R1 like Gimbert? So do they both have vast experience of riding that bike on shot, or relatively hard tyres for hours and hours (and hours)? For all that, it remains to be seen if the Yamaha's will be sufficiently developed to have enough speed to challenge the Suzukis, Ducatis and Ten Kate Hondas. One things for sure though. Well, by now you know that Corona Suzuki dominated the event. Don't expect a Ducati to take this championship in 2005. When Vermuellen is healthy, he will be difficult to defeat.
