  1. Took the bandit out for a blast this afternoon - pretty quick these
bikes aren't they! I'd almost forgot the feeling of ram air breathing
    through an open visor.

What wasn't so good though, was my mobile phone making a bid for freedom
at 120 on a dual carriageway. *arse*.

    Oops...

Funnily enough it was at 120 that the ZZR's screen trim decided to eject
    today.

It was interesting to see just how quickly you can stop a ZZR11 on a
decent dry surface. I think I'd better glue in on this time.

If I were ever in the position, however unlikely, to do 120 on my bindit
I wouldn't be able to boast about as I wouldn't have a clue because the
battering from the wind makes it nigh on impossible to see the dials
much above 100. Mind you having said that I was well into the red zone,
whatever speed that is, at one point if I judge the beautiful noise from
the can right last night on the way home.

  4. I bet you weren't laughing at the time...
Funny, I found myself boggling at how poor the brakes on the bindit are,
although it was mildly moist, I was in jeans and I know the rear pads
    need doing.

  5. I'm not sure it will.
Heh - fortunately I've only ever ridden unfaired bikes, so I've gotten
used to that wind battering effects.
Heh - full beans in 6th? fair play to you Mr A.

Oh and you've just remided me, tis fookin louder than I remembered too!

    Yes.. tehy are :)

That said, I just took the car out to the driving range - it being -1,
sleeting and generally awash (plus dark) made me glad I was inside my little
    box at 24C.

The driving range however was outside. Jesus...

Good it was. I could have done with another mile or two tbh but I ran
out of straight bit just as I was getting into it. I did think about
turning round and having a go in the other direction but I figured that
the noise had prolly attracted the attention of every plod within five
miles and decided to give while I was ahead and sneak off home via the
tree lined acoustically suppressed back roads, on this occasion.

You'd be wrong. I was laughing like a loon. I thrashed the tits off the
bike today, the roads were properly dry and grippy for the first time in
    ages.

The trim going temporarily AWOL wasn't a problem, I was on an empty
country road at the time so I just stopped, went back, and picked it up.

I was reading in the paper in the week how the speed-nazis at BRAKE were
complaining about people driving at 60MPH on country roads. Heh.

I was screaming. The turbo was interesting on the B2116 [1] today with
    it's mid range misfire best described as "bimble; stuttering; sputtery;
FULL POWER; sputter; MORE POWER; nnngh; oh it's gone all limp" and so on.

I'm currently consulting the turbo oracle and waiting him to get back. I
    suspect one of the coils.

When you've been standing outside for 30 minutes waving a club at a little

Sandton. And yes it can be very cold in winter - but that's at night.
Usually goes up to 16 odd degrees with sunshine during the day.

  16. Since we're comparing dick sizes, I 'raced' two plod bikers across the
place de la Concorde this evening. I won, but had to whip the nuts off
    my BMW to do so.
