  1. Who seems to think a BMW K has carburettors?

Seems he was very honest about the bike and it does read that he was
relaying what someone else had told him.

  3. I'm not questioning his honesty, just his competence. A deler who thinks
    a BMW K is carburetted is a dealer I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot
pole, even if he has accurately described the bike.

    Its utterly fucked isn't it?
Can't see what anyone would do with it , save a spare
engine that no one will ever need.

Looks like it's been carefully stored in a canal. All it really needs is a
    chair...

"I have just been informed that the reason it was taken off the road is
there is a short on the wiring loom, not leaking carbs."

  10. You've only got to look at his spelling and grammar for a start . . .

Mind you, he has been honest and shown how much of a shitbox it is, I
was looking at the photos and trying to think of what you could
actually use off it for spare parts. Not a lot I would think.

The decals might peel off with a bit of care.

  13. Wheels look ok- about 50 quid each easily.

Front disks, coils, master cylinders, calipers, crash bars might be
    worth around 20-30 quid each.

Forks, someone will spring 20 quid or more.

Head... probably one of the mini nuts would pay 150 quid or so.

I think you'd easily get 500 quid out of it. Fucked if I'd want to
drive to merseyside and back to do that though...

If someone else does though, I'd pay forty quid for the front calipers
    if they're not fucked.

    Cheerist but that is horrible.

FWIW I have seen K's with carb conversions, downdraught carbs and
    conventional on an angled manifold.

With a little bit of work you could make a nice "retro" K110 with minimal
electronics. Carbs and a dual points setup.

  16. I must have missed something. Where in the ad did the seller claim to
    be a dealer?

Looked to me like it was rider training school auctioning off an old
piece of crap by describing it as an old piece of crap.

  17. On the bit where it says "Motors dealer", perhaps?

  18. We must be looking at a different page or auction. I just did a search
for "motors" and "dealer" and found neither. More to the point the
seller didn't represent himself as a dealer.
