  2. Not of legal riding age at that stage, but I'd tear up the farm roads on
a 79cc Suzuki single two-stroke of late 60s vintage, which I think was
designated as a KP something or other.

(If I ever track one down, I'd be mightily tempted to acquire for the
    nostalgia value.)

Otherwise, I'd be peddling around on a 1928 Massey single-speed pushbike
that was originally imported into Australia (from Canada?) by the Post
    Master General.

I have a photo of the motorbike I was riding in 1971 but I can't
identify it. It was mainly red with some silver around the tank, the
forks and the sides of the seat cushion.

  8. I wouldn't recommend that line for a lady these days, unless you're a
reporter hungry for information on stabbings, shootings and/or rapes.

  11. In early 1971 I was riding my just-restored 1941 ex-New Zealand Army
    Indian 741B Junior Scout, a throbbing 500cc side-valve V-twin with crap
brakes. After a Morris 1100 cleaned me up on the university ring road I
spent the latter part of the year on a 1951 Matchless G80S thanking the
deities that I broke my left leg, not my right. The Indian cost me $80 in
rough but running condition. You couldn't get one for less than $10,000 in
similar condition today. Yes, I'd like to still have it (and some of the
others that followed, like a Rickman Metisse Triumph scrambler) but when
it came to actually going for a ride, my modern Honda presses way more
    buttons.

I was riding a Vespa until some bimbo in an Audi forgot the principle
behind a stop sign and plowed into me.

Luckily, I was young and only bounced, at a very high rate of speed,
off my left buttock introducing me to my first massive hematoma. I got
back on the Vespa, after kicking out the dents, and rode it home.

Sadly, the Vespa's frame was bent and she was totalled. I used the
insurance money to upgrade to a 305 Scrambler.

Still feel pretty sad about the little Vespa's undignified end.

Probably. It was all I could afford as a young bloke (just turned 28)
with a wife and three kids who had just moved into our first house and
    bought our first new car.

I had it for three years and traded it for a TX500 twin. Another two
years and I bought my first Guzzi.

Well for a 2poke they were reasonably cheap to run , however they didn't
win a lot of races and in your circumstances it wan not important , I
also had about that time a 125cc Haha twin which we raced (the rider was
    tiny) and not me :)
    It was not economical

Hmmm if it was before February, everything was dark and fuzzy ... for
awhile after February I was having enough trouble trying to walk, to
    worry about bikes...
