Well, I learnt I wasn't on your photography school in Septemebr.

 

Don't you remember when we went to get ice-creams in the little town,
and I gave you a few pointers. Disappointed, mate. Really, I am.

 

Oh _those_ tips, yes, I remember those, but there was nobody around.

Seriously, all of France was closed.

Are those the ones involving upskirt shots using a toe-cam? Perhaps I
mis-remember.

 

Except for Amiens cathedral, which the guidebook said was closed on
May Day but wasn't. That's a seriously impressive building.

 

Along those lines!

 

....except the bits that were open, of course. Gamaches was *heaving* -
street markets, funfairs, frites stalls, millions of Frenchies. Blangy was
quiet, apart from the lunatic drivers who entertained us through lunch, and
the cries of disgust as Tim handed round his goblet of UHT viper piss. The
aire north of Blangy was happy to dispense as much fuel as we wanted, and
the Chateau-Fort de Rambures was *fabulous*.

The bar in Chepy was open, too.

 

The jewellers in Le Treport was too, where TOG bought a watchstrap.

Of the watch TOG said "My grandfather gave it to me". Once we'd
all stopped sniggering, he added "Yes, yes, I've seen Pulp Fiction,
thank you".
