Got some spam-type emails (4 off) the other day purporting to be a
'new' Derby Phoenix discussion group. I'm not interested in whether
it's the real one or not, but I wondered if anyone had seen worse
spelling than this. http://dpmcc.networkin.co.uk. It reads:

    "
Weclome to the unofficial DerbyPhoenix website, created for the
memeber of the club, at their request.

This website currently only contains a fourm, which is what most of
the people have asked for, however i will launch some kind of website,
possibly include rider profiles and mini websites, so let me know what
you would like to see, and ill do my best to give it to you.

This site has been created for the purpose of communication between
DerbyPhoenix memeber, however does not have any assosication with the
    club and is totally 'unofficial'

This site is hosted and mained at no cost to anyone, so please bare
this in mind, should there be any technical problems; however should
you wish to contribute towards the hosting and maintainace, please
    email
    "

    Ace says...
Daz, club racer and future team UKRM rider. IIRC he does a lot of racing
with Derby Phoenix so I think you may just have slagged of his mates
    website.

Ace <> somehow managed to post:

Flash found one recently that makes this little gem look positively
erudite. 'Twas an eBay advert IIRC, but I cant seem to find it, or the
thread here, on Google. It's possible that I dreamt it.

    Oh, it's _that_ Daz.
Bit oversensitive, I feel. I was only amused by the spelling, FFS...

It's one of those "Ah look, someone less intelligent than us. Let's
all point and laugh" posts. Which IMHO is a bit naff.

Right person, wrong assumption. I've never met the guy who runs the
forum and would have posted the same of any website content.

Dus, innit. How many examples of small Derby dialect producers come
tramping through your house? I claim a wider survey base and a
    superior methodology, Ha, I win.

What time are you leaving? We're off for lunch first, wanna come?

You grew up in wales, I'm proper derbyshire. I win, on both counts.
Got a pizza in the oven already, then I'm probably off.

    See you there.

    Well there you go then.
Not so fast - spending some of teenage years there (too many of them)
does in no way equate to growing up in.
And how many years have you actually lived in Derby for? You turned
your back on your place of birth, failed to appreciate it. Whereas I
embraced the new city and culture. I've lived here longer than you.

    <Des mode>
I'm more Derby than you. I truly understand its people *and* they
will talk about the war and we have views through the windows and
don't like 4X4s. And we all have R1s.

    1974 - 1987
    then 1999 - present date.

    I make that 18 years.
I was dragged away, by my parents.
Longer that 18 years? are you sure about that?
I've got Derby City Hospital on my birth certificate. (Not the physical
building, you understand) That's more Derby than all those things.
