Worst Day Competition....

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Dynamic, Oct 14, 2003.

  1. Dunno. All I can remember was that the car was a crap old Cortina
(tautology?) and she used to put a blanket over the engine when
    it was frosty outside.

And one day she forgot to take it off
before she started the engine. The fire wasn't big but it did
melt all the electrics and plastics on the engine.

I think she stopped blanketing them after that.

LOL, it's not such an uncommon occurrence, or rather it wasn't.
All to save a few pennies on antifreeze.

Like others have said:- proper pain relief lies in the use of wholly
inappropriate drugs in huge quantities. And sex.

    maybe you'll be lucky.

anyway, you beat my day of lost-car-keys and having to leave the car in a
carpark with uni stuff and wheelchair inside.

Depends on how closely you relate to other people's misery really.

Some people wouldn't have a problem with that.

I told my ex-missus that she wasn't coming home to our house when I had
decided a divorce was on the cards. As she was living/working in Saudi
Arabia at the time, and wouldn't answer the phone in her room, I had no
option but to send a fax that read like this :

    "Kate,

When you come back on leave, don't bother coming to the house cos you
don't live here any more. Is that clear?

    Loz"

She didn't have a fax machine in her room, the only one I had a number
for was in the main reception area of the hospital she worked in. I
guess everyone else in the hospital knew before she did.

Mebbe. I was mostly clinging to the idea that if I was really good
about it, mebbe we'd get back together. It was one of those "trial
    separation" (ha fucking ha) things.
    Hasn't he just.

I usually have to make my mistakes two or three times :)

But. seriously, it may actually have been better for me to get out,
thinking about it - I went to stay with some friends who "looked
after" me, and as soon as I saw which way the wind was blowing, I got
the house on the market, so I was only paying (most of) the morthage
for about 5 months. Doing it the other way round, I'd have been
moping around 'our' house all alone.
