Nev, are Metro still going? Hope so... great guys who support the sport... last I saw a while back they were trying to sell up, and the guys who served me we're too happy about it all.

The bloke was trying to get out of the business, hes only been in it
since Canterbury Road days in the 80's.. He was selling it as a
    running business..

Fark; and I thought I was bad having to use the manual to find the fuelpump
    for my car!

    Me too!

Not my long-departed Beemers, I now have one of these:
    http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/128276/
(not quite so blue, different controls & handlebar shroud, no legshield,
but the same bar sticking through the footpeg rubbers and the same
    missing chaincase)

I wanted a postie; they are classic and hard core (not to mention red).
But the C90 "Deluxe" (a.k.a. Honda Cub) is close enough. Mine is a bit
ragged, but very cute. I scored it in Narrabundah, 1km from home. Comes
with free delivery! In a ped-slicer HD ute! Previously registered! Owned
by a grizzled old cockie from new! Only 8700km thrashed around his
    paddocks! And original key!

Cost me all of $100 (stick that in your pipe, eBay); probably worth more
than that broken into parts. A quick google suggests the C90E was
produced between 84 and 86; that would make mine the newest bike I've
ever owned (and probably the least going). WTF am I going to find a 6V
    charger? Jamo Market?

The C90 has been such a well-received designation that Suzuki is also
    making one:

    STOCK-CODE: MB3518
    2, 6, 12V Lead Acid Battery Charger

This fully automatic charger plugs into a power point and will charge
2V, 6V, and 12V sealed, and standard (car) lead acid batteries. When the
battery is completely charged, the current is automatically reduced to
    prevent overcharging.

    Features:
    - 600mA charging current
    - Short circuit and wrong polarity protected
    - Constant charging current
    - No charge if battery connected incorrectly
    - LED's for showing charging state, green for charging, red for battery
    reversed terminals.

Output lead has battery clips for easy charging. Ideal to trickle charge
your car battery while on holidays or keep those SLA batteries charged
    and in tip top condition.

Note: These chargers will not charge a totally flat battery - ie. zero
    volts.

Ummm, errr, I know I've seen one recently which had a 12<->6 switch
on it. Check out K-mart and Dick Smith, because they're the only
places I can think of that I've been recently which might have
    then.

Thanks, good suggestion. I already have a 12V charger, I was hoping I'd
    need a 6V once only :)

Gary (nearly bought myself one of Dick's solar-powered chargers for
    Christmas)

    Wimp!

WTF do you need a 6-volt charger for?

On the wee Hondas, you deliberately empty out any fluid in the battery..
(good weed-killer!) and run with a dry battery.

    I had a rummage through the half-dozen plug-packs and mobile-phone chargers
in the shed and came up with a 6V 500ma one that I used on gNatalie's CB125
    battery.

While it's still DIck's head, it's not Dick's company anymore.

He sold it to Wollies years ago.

    "Look, it's a Dick Head!"

I had to fix my dad's 6V charger a couple of weeks ago. A $2 bridge fixed
it. He needs it to charge the batteries in his 1927 Ford T, his 1926
Whippet, and his 1943 Ford Jeep.

Getting difficult to buy, except for expensive ones.

Thanks for your suggestion. BT advised me that on these wee Hondas, the
battery is part of the voltage regulation circuitry, and running without
    that regulation will blow globes.

Gary (haven't checked the existing globes yet)

Now there's a thought! I already have a box of plug-packs and chargers,
maybe all I need is some wire and crococlips.
Thanks. Have photos, need host. Any recommendations?

Actually, it's not Dick's head anymore. They've changed
    the logo.

Doesn't make Dick any less of a dickhead though.

Hmmm, still looks like the same old Dick Head to me.
He's not a dickhead, he's just a very silly biscuit maker these days.
