  1. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Paul Carmichael

Nearly. He's got the bike insured at last. Tomorrow, he's off.

I really wish I could get the video of my BiL crashing his Plod BMW.
That was amusing. He left the side stand down and the switch was
fucked, so didn't cut the engine out. You see him take one bend to the
right, the next to the left and *bang*! Tarmac surfing on a mountain
    road.

  5. 3 meses para conseguir seguro. Parece, mi moto es demasiado grande...
No se. Depende en el tiempo. Hoy, hay mucho viento aqui (menos tilde,
    porque tengo teclado ingles). Disculpame.

Tengo que aprender como conducir una moto...

  7. I forgot to translate the message for ukrm. But I get the impression
that they all understood it anyway.

  8. Well, depends what you mean by shortly. We've got the kids coming to
visit around crimble time, and before that, a mate is coming out to do
some skiing. Do you mean like this month, or the new year?

  9. "Seguro" = "Safe", "sure", or "insurance". Other than that, fine. It's
taken me ages to get insurance for the thing. People keep crashing their
bikes here, so the premiums are high, and most insurers wouldn't even
    take me on.

Ace bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along the lines
    of:
I'll try to get it. It won't be anytime soon, as I've not got any plans
to go to Spain ATM. He's also a tad, er, concerned that if his guvnor
got hold of the cassette, he'll be bollocked for playing silly buggers
(as in filming themselves, but not for showing a problem with the bike).

What I do know though, is that the whole thing was whitewashed over and
that this problem with the side stand switch is a known and common
problem, but no-one wants to take responsibility for it (either BMW or
the Guardia Civil). The impression I got, is that the GC were shafted
by BMW, when they bought the fleet of bikes for their coppers.

Sounds like the Spanish sentences in the "Fiesta" song by The Pogues :)

"El 25 de agosto, abrio sus ojos, Jaime Fernley. El bebe 50 gin-campari, y
    se tendio para cerrarlos"

You could translate "tight arse" by "culo prieto", and would still sound
nice! Cab's BiL may understand it.

Er, "La [Family Name]" in Spain is used tipically by female flamenco singers
as artist name. May we see Paul in funny clothes with a red flower in his
    hair?

Well, the bit in your headers that reads "Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004
04:03:24 -0800" is a dead giveaway, even if one doesn't quote the
    timeas Agent does above.
Question is - How did it get set like that in the first place? it must
have been a coscious action at some point.
Well the Dell laptop at least should be on CET, unless you've manually
    altered it.

    (I) Needs a slap round the head, I believe.

Whilst it perhaps makes sense (It will be hotter for him), I wanted to say
"It will be too hot for him", which I now know I should have used
"demasiado"... I just don't/didn't have my dictionary at work. Or a clue.
