WOOHOO!!!

  1. After many trials and tribulations and about 2 months worth of waiting
for various parts...the bike is FINALLY back on the road! WOOHOO!!!

Thankyou VERY much to all those who have offered advice at various
points when I encountered frustrating problems, you were instrumental
in helping me maintain a tenuous grip on my remaining sanity. :)

I would also like to announce my recent engagement, and although I
already knew I had found *the one* before this, it was confirmed this
afternoon when she said that now the bike was running I could ride it
any time I want because she's having the car...no complaints here! :)

  3. Congrats (both on the engagement and fixing the bike!) What was wrong
with the bike in the end? I may have missed it, I was following the
threads but apart from smoke eminating from the front, then more
recently, troubles fitting the altenator cover I don't really know what
    happened in between.

Congrats, but I suspect she wants the car more than she wants you. :)
